Refresh Content Catalog
New instances will store the original's domain name in some catalog records, and a catalog refresh will fix this and maybe some other problems. Here's how...
Make sure you have the problem; typically, it's where listings point to
cnx.org and you're not on cnx.org. Subject browse third pane does this, as do
many other browse panes (author doesn't). The FeaturedArticle and some
author-supplied links on content may look like this, but don't count, since
they are user-entered data. This procedure can't do anything about
that.
Once you know you need to do this:
- Log in as a Manager user.
- Create a URL with the path: /content/catalog/refreshCatalog, making sure
that you're using the host name you want to operate with. (So don't do it
from an IP or short address, as you might visit the ZMI with.)
- Submit the request and wait a while.
- Test by revisiting what you did earlier.
That's it. Will probably take a 5-10 minutes.
Naturally, this will have to be done for every new data sync, which copies
the cnx.org catalog (along with everything else.) Hopefully we will, in the
future, be able to restructure things such that this isn't necessary to get
copy instances to work right.
