I want to be added as a maintainer to a workgroup

Document Actions

Dear [],

The approach to giving you write access to these modules is a two-step one, and will require help from one of the members who already have write access. First, you should have them log in to Connexions (or log in yourself using their account with their permission) and click on the name of the workgroup in which these modules reside. In the management interface that appears for that workgroup, have them click on the "Members" tab. Using the "search" box, they can find your Connexions account and add it to the workgroup by checking the box next to the proper account in the search return and then clicking the "Add selected Users" button. Once this is done, you will be added to the workgroup and able to edit all the new or checked-out unpublished modules in that workgroup.

To be able to publish a module from the workgroup, you have a maintainer role on that module. So, to give you publish permission, for each module or course in the workgroup you must click on that module/course, click on its "Roles" tab, and add yourself as a maintainer. You can do so by clicking on the "Select Yourself" link. This give you a selection of possible roles for the module - pick "Maintainers" and then click "Add People". One final caveat is that your maintainership will not take effect until a pre-existing maintainer has published the module first. Thus, to have publish permissions yourself, you must have one of the original maintainers log into Connexions (or do so for them with their permission) and publish each module/collection in the workgroup.

I hope this explanation helps - please let me know if you have any further questions, and thank you for your interest in Connexions.
