Printers, servers, packaging
Moved odin, the shared printer. Killed the JetDirect, and found a bad network cable. So wallace is now a print server.
Added SGML catalog support to the Connexions XML debian packages. This makes psgml work for our Emacsen kin.
Moved our servers in the Mudd Ops center, in two stages: First the blades, then the main racks. Did this with the racks hot. It was a learning experience, that's for sure. Learned that, for HP, sometimes redundant power, isn't. And that old disks like to die in pairs. Especially if they're in the same RAID group. We still need to do some rearranging, and probably finally get rid of the tape robot, since our new location blocks F&E access to some air handling equip.
Spec'ed some new machines for our newest developers (and our Project Assistant, who skipped the last round of upgrades) Amazing what 2K will get you these days.
Learning the whys and ways of Subversion - but the migration from CVS is on hold, until after rollout. Speaking of which, got to play 'backup Brent' and did the rollout to citadel. Seemed to go fairly smoothly.

From Windows, some of the port settings for the printer need to change.
Start Menu > Settings > Printers and Faxes > Odin
Printer menu > Properties > Ports tab
select your Standard TCP/IP Port that points to Odin
click Configure Port...
Change the Protocol from Raw to LPR
Enter the word "text" under LPR Settings, in the Queue Name box.
Check the LPR Byte Counting Enabled box.
Hit Okay.
Ta da!
